Agree with others' comments on backhoe, excavator, or bulldozer, and that apple wood is in demand. How big of a tractor and good cable do you have? About 50 years ago, I used a 706 with duals to help a neighbor pull old apple trees, probably 10-15 acre orchard. Hooked cable on belly drawbar - -he hooked cable as high as he could reach on tree, got out of the way, and idled tractor away EASY - - NO jerking to break cables or tear up tractor. It was surprising how easy old apple trees came out - - a lot of old fruit trees have little roots left. NOTE: this will not work with Elms or others with big root-wads. He later piled trees with a front end loader with forks. Best Wishes and BE SAFE!!
