A good friend of mine asked me two weeks ago to go ice fishing,,I declined, told him Im getting to old for it. One day last week he said ,your coming with me,some of his friends that live in the Pocono mts in PA,are serious ice fishermen, and they invited us. He took me to get my fishing license ,Weds,it was cold,I said,Im not sure about this,,he says,,your not spending the day on the computer,it wont be that cold, and lots of good food, lots of things to see,,So,,off we go to Harveys Lake ,near a town called Dallas Pa..near Willkes Bare? heres the lake ,looking from the parking lot,it wasnt a real sunny day,,,It was a nice lake, and lots to see, but,,,,it was cold we pass a few fishermen on our half mile walk to were our friends were,,,,Im thinking,,,its not cold? we arrive at our friends spot,,they have a shanty tent with heat inside! a look inside the tent A two burner cook stove...we had lots of good food, and they sample jarred stuff from our garden all day,hot peppers, show chow relish, pickles of all kinds,,,and of course some new fangled turnip relish,,,, during the course of the day, holes were being drilled all over, and many other people were fishing some perch were caught, but I was told, not as many as last week, today was slow some trout wer caught,a few miised them as they tried to lift them out of the hole the line broke while walking around , I talked with a nice older man and his wife,,,she caught this trout,,,,the only hit they had all day,she caught it,and was she exicited!I asked her if I could take a picture ,she said sure,,,you can say you caught it if you want!I said,no,,,its a better story if I tell the truth,,,lol And the truth is,,this is me fishing,, I didnt catch squat!...now I M gonna walk around some of the lake and take pictures for SweetFeet and The tractor site there were ice huts around different spots on the lake Ishowed this rig on tool talk I never saw one before,it gets towed like a sled hes putting his fish finder in the hole first has a little heater next to him pulls the top up and fishes away! now I have to walk around, enough fishing for me,got to get some pictures of the lake, and the houses around it ,While you look at the houses, see if you can guess which one my wife liked,,,,I ll bet SweetFeet will guess it,, [ what blew me away was some of the boat houses,,,a place to store the boat and toys, swim from the deck, and party inside? Thanks for coming along on the ice fishing trip,,it was lots of fun, lots of good food ,lots of great things to see,,my friend didnt lie,,,,except,,,it was cold!!!
