Listen to this!
I had a guy call, and was looking for a few parts for a Farmall H (I have one I am parting out).
I told him I would sell him everything I had left for it, for $250, this INCLUDED the entire rearend, bellhousing, gas tank, steering shaft, dash, seat, brakes, axles, etc. No drawbar or frame.
PLUS the grill, damaged hood, radiator, frame rails, front end, other steering shaft, spindles, etc.
PLUS a box of things dash plate, gauge, few wheel clamps, etc.
I figured that it was a really good deal for his part, and that I should have asked a little more, BUT I told him $250, and he didn't haggle around with me, so I was cool with it...
He showed up, and first things first, I pick up the big chunk with the backhoe, and set it on his trailer.
I shut the backhoe off, because the rest can be loaded by hand. He started tying down the chuck, and was all set, and I was going to go back for more stuff, and he shook my hand, and said "thank a bunch! Have a good one!"
Then he went to get into his truck, and I said " welllll, what about the rest of the stuff???" he looked over his shoulder at the pile of parts about 30 feet away and said "I don't want any of that stuff" then without another word got in his truck and left!!??????
He had already paid me the $250 without question? What was the deal with that??? Fine with me, I guess, felt kind of bad though!!! What would you have done??????

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
