LA in WI said: (quoted from post at 14:42:54 03/23/15) Why unload on the parts girl? She never promised you "rush" delivery, the manager did. Simply, and courteously, tell the parts girl you want to talk to the manager. Then you go over the details with the manager.

The manager might not have followed thru properly, but I am sure your choice of words with the girl have improved their feelings on how to help you in the future!

By telling us about this I am absolutely certain it will make everything better.

Hmm well one gets frusterated with poor service at dealers and no it doesn't help to get mad at staff as its pointles. Not to mention this time of year the dealers are in the slow time of year. If it was during harvest when they get a zillion calls a day thats different. Dealers don't pay enough to keep the experienced parts guys I find so there is always a turn over of staffing. What gets me mad is when I have to argue with the parts person that "yes they do have the part I want" or they can get it. But again its lack of experience.

With parts unless you are lucky and there is a person there thats been around equipment for 20-30 years its better to look up the parts yourself and just call in with parts numbers. AS its so frusterating waiting a week then finding out they ordered the wrong part !!! With the internet I think dealers almost expect/want farmers to do the part looking up themselves and just have staff to take orders.

I had a heck of time with warranty service a newer IH 4300 truck for the farm. Service manager admitted that yes I got screwed around. Excuse I got from the service manager was "what do you expect this is Alberta and we can't find good help" !!!! Well maybe with the oil price falling they'll be able to afford good help now  I hate taking it in there as its always something and for just simple little stuff.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
