That's awesome, he's in the big leagues now LOL ! With all that goes with it too. Some have no use for sports, my gripe is the big business side of it, not fond of any of that, but its success for him, you have a chance to do it, hard not to. Friend in high school, went to Syracuse, scored in the orange bowl inm '88, would have to look it up, but I was watching on TV rooting, getting old, memory fading LOL ! He was a natural multi talented athlete, football, basketball, baseball and track. I was on the football and track teams with him. Unbelievably gifted in all athletics and the best part about him was his attitude, he was a very mild mannered, humble, and not very outspoken, and as good a friend you could ask for, he was a person who made full use of abilities, and such a natural at running very fast, + he played baseball in the spring, so he did not go to track practice very often, but still won most, if not all the events he competed in. He would come back for visits, we enjoyed who he was as a person, it was great to see him succeed, he came from the projects, public housing, amongst a lot of negativity, adversity etc. Maybe the best thing was that although he made it through the NFL draft and was placed, he never made it to a full career, but one thing was certain, he gave it his best and to this day has no regrets about it from what he has said. He is very successful in his life regardless and likely because of who he became through dedicated perseverance in sports/athletic competition no matter the outcome, the experience built his good character. When we played football together, the coach literally built the offense around him, and that sure worked well, he never had a big ego or any ego, it was his raw talent that stood out.
Another classmate, made it to the NHL and was a well known goalie with the Mighty Ducks, neither ever lost their head, they just followed their dreams and made the best of their ability to be successful, that in itself is something to admire more than the rest of the glitz and glitter of professional sports.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Not a place one would associate with farms or farm machinery. I credit my parents for instilling a lot of good values, a respect for learning, a knowledge of various skills and a little knowledge of farming in me, amo
