Was going to town today so I called Academy sporting goods to see if they have any 22LR in stock. Guy says sure do.
Guess that was my first mistake. Should have been more specific with my question.
Get to the store and the counter guy points at about 25; 50 round boxes sitting on the shelf. That's your biggest box? Yes that's our only boxes. OK I'll take 4 boxes. Sorry limit of 2 boxes. OK I'll take 2 boxes.
He hands me 2 boxes and it was a good thing I looked before buying them. Lead is so small it barely sticks out of the shell casing.
So now I am full of questions. Find out........ They have no gunpowder. Will not cycle the action of semi automatic rifle. They have a muzzle energy of 11 ft. lbs. and muzzle velocity of 500 fps.
NO GUNPOWDER!!!!!! What the heck good is a bullet with no gunpowder? And with muzzle power like that I think my 177 pellet gun would do a better job.
I know 22LR has been hard to find; but is this what we have come to in this country. Rifle shells without gunpowder.

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
