: I have a sears garden tractor that was manufactured by Roper, looks like a Cub yellow and white. The problem is the clutch return spring has flown off and I dont know where to reattach the new one. The book was no help it just had part numbers and diagrams but did not give a clear indication of location. It has a 16hp Onan and runs excellent, did anyone make a floating deck for this tractor? Thanks. Bryan,My father-in-law is a avid Sears tractor nut, owns about 16-17 of them. So the other night I walked down and asked him about your questions. On the spring thing, the spring should be connected to the bracket where the belt pully moves forward and backward and should be attached to the frame straight behind the pulley down in behind the dash. There should be a hole in the frame and in that hole there should be a heavy cotter pin that the other end of the spring should hook to. Its pretty hard to explain without pictures, hope it helps. As far as the mower deck, my father-in law says they came new with a floating deck, a scissors type free floating deck. Hope I've been of help, have any questions get back to me, jcsnyder@sunlink.net
