Non GMO is not that hard to grow. Herbicide selection gets more expensive with non GMO. We can go back to cultivating but if we do that our gains in soil conservation go out the window except on perfectly flat land. One of the reasons GMO corn yields better is it is healthier because it kills off some of it's enemies, mainly rootworms and corn borers but there are other minor bugs too that are killed off. I don't know if cyst nematode resistant beans are a GMO or if a resistant strain was found without injecting genes. We do have cyst nematode pretty bad in my neck of the woods and a non resistant bean does not do well because of it.
Grain elevators would need separate grain handling facilities if they want to handle both GMO and non GMO, not just separate bins. Then there is the probable chance of a load of GMO grain being sent the wrong way and ending up in the non GMO pits.
I looked into raising some non GMO corn but the market was way too far away and the trucking would eat up the profit real quick. A few guys around here grew some non GMO beans but the processor they hauled them to rejected too many loads. The farmers did everything right but there probably was some GMO seed sprinkled in the bag of non GMO seed.

I credit my parents for instilling a lot of good values, a respect for learning, a knowledge of various skills and a little knowledge of farming in me, amo
