I hate to even admit this. It makes me look like a total schlep.
I bought a JD 7800 FWA at auction about a year and a half ago. Didn't really use it for a while but had it in for a priority and service at the dealership before planting season. I put right at 200 hours on it. This year I serviced it and started planting season. I use the 2500 pound bulk seed bags and dump them in my tender cart. Every time I would pick one of those up I would notice that one front tire was a little low. Then you rush to the field - you know how it is. I finally had a rain delay so I got out the tire guage. One front tire was 35 pounds and the other was 55! They are supposed to be at 24 max. The rear duals had 22 pounds each and they were supposed to be 14. I spend half an hour letting out air!
I was more than a little shocked at how smooth she rode through the field today. For someone as fanatical as I am about maintenance and checking pressures I'm not sure what I was thinking. Whew.

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
