If your tractor has an alternator (instead of generator) and there are two terminals in a rectangular slot that are not connected then I think you have a Delco Remy alternator. If so, then it may have an internal regulator. (there is also an older model Delco Remy alternator that uses an external regulator. The two terninals will point out the back on this older one instead of out the side as on the later one.) If it has an internal regulator then it may have a "self exciting" regulator instead of the regular one. The "self exciting" regulator does NOT need to have the two terninals connected to anything. : Also, the electrical goes from the battery terminal : to the starter and to the volt ammeter. At the ammeter : the other terminal goes to the alternator. However, the : alternators terminal 1 and 2 are not connected. I was looking : at an automotive repair manual and it shows that terminal : 2 goes to a regulator. Does the tractor have a regulator? : I have not really look for it. : Any assistance in this matter is appreciated.
