They are dangerous. The battery can blow from several causes. an Amp meter is not one of them. Internal failed connection in an interconnect from cell to cell or cell to post. Failed separator above a low level of electrolyte, is another. Way overcharging and getting hydrogen gas in and or around the battery, then a spark or manifold heat. Extreme discharge that can melt internal components and produce the hydrogen. Jim
