: I recently found a nice Ford 2000 at an action. : Since all my tractor experience is on a Ford 9N : I failed to notice that the double clutch wasn't : working properly. The transmission is free when : the clutch is pressed, but the PTO stays locked. : Tightening the clutch linkage doesn't help. : My question. Is it easy to replace the clutch : once the Ford 2000 is split? Does it require : any special tools or tricks? : Many thanks Before you split tractor check which hole the pedal is in. One hole lets the pedal be lower when you don't need the PTO, the other hole raises the pedal higher so you can disengage the PTO when pushed all the way down.If you do need to split and remove clutch you would need a clutch set-up tool to set finger height.Your local Ford dealer should have this. Good luck.
