restoring/repainting a older loader/backoe..need advise

Hi. I have an older JD loader backhoe. It has seen many years of hard work. I have some time this fall and would like restore it, basically to get the machine cleaned up and looking good. (mechanically all is sound, save a few hyd. cylinder leaks) My questions are what should or should not be done to clean this up. Its deisel, so what should i watch out for? pressurwashing? degreasing joints? sandblasting? any experience much appreciated. dave
