Right now I am sitting in a coffee shop waiting for a dr appt and blogging on the smart phone. Smart phone just reminded me of the appt while i was catching up on the latest FSA news emailed to this smart phone. It can be used as a tool if we are patient enough to learn how to use it.
It can be a deterrent too as you have said. While driving to this coffee shop a soccer mom was right on my back bumper talking on the phone and flailing her arm making hand gestures. If I would have hit the brakes hard she would have been in the bed of my pickup.
