Thank you all Gentlmen for your insight and input. I think I will run a thermostat in the upper radiator hose. Then try it out and see what happens, I will also pressure wash the radiator to make sure it is clear of derbus (that is a technical term for clogged up...) If no change, I will think about the fan shroud and do some research about whether the early 8n's had a shroud. I don't have the facilities at home to drill and tap the head. Are there extrac ports or (?) that I could use for the sensor? Thanks, Skip
