Newbie here, I'm trying to put a 12 v system on my 3020 diesel, serial number 53019, I think it's a 1964 model. I went to the local starter repair shop and purchased a ND starter and one wire alternato. My problem is the starter won't fit with the fuel filter. The starter measures about 12. 5 inches, I only have about 11 tops. Has anyone else had this problem? Solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
