I have a Deere 6500 sprayer and it still has the X ford boom on it. The one side lift cylinder always seeped a little oil and the side developed a major leak towards the end of last season. Well Son and I took it apart awhile back to see if we could fix it. The seal was out of one and the other one had rubbed a hole in the side. They are one way cylinders and believe it or not the make a repair kit for them but you have to cut them apart and weld them back together. New cylinders are $431 apiece at Deere ------so we checked around and found ones at surplus center for $49.95. Only trouble is Deere has 9 in. stroke and new ones have a 10 in. So we changed the way they mount. Had to reduce new ones pin holes from 1 in. to 1/2 with bushings and spacers and make new mounting ears. Not to proud of my welds, but it was not a good place to weld...Tee
