: I now have the first diesel engine I have ever owned. It smokes a bit, but it doesn't seem to use oil. Question: Could the smoke be from poor injectors and not worn rings as in a gasoline engine? I would like to rebuild this engine one day, but if I can get away with just putting in new injectors for now I would do it. Need some advice and info. Thanks. Injectors might just be dirty....a container of fuel conditioner might work miracles for you. Otherwise clean your injectors. If that doesnt work check your timing.A screwed up diesel usually blows black smoke. If you are getting blue it still may be oil. Good luck!!!! Chris
