Running rough 9N

Over the weekend, i got my 9n running after sitting for 2+yrs.
However, it wouldn't let me give it full throttle without
it running rough, spitting water out radiator overflow, and
back firing. It did run great at idle though. Also, after letting it run for a while I couldn't get it
going again. Could this be a sign of a bad ign. coil
not generating a good spark when hot? Finally, there was no sign of charging when running.
Generator/Voltage reg. problem? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve
