My junior high years were in a rural small farm community. Among the boys, the most popular guys who could tell the best stories of near accidents and whose tractor was biggest. One fellow's dad had a W9 and after getting his 300 acre farm reclaimed by plowing down brush and briars traded it for a new 1951 Farmall M with a loader. One fellow had two tractors and even the ones that had a F series on steel were also popular, Some who did not have a tractor would claim one that a relative or neighbor had. 1952 was the greatest year for tractors every company had improvements. Those were the good old days. I still love tractors and have 10. I had a tractor before I had a car at 17, I now have a Lincoln that three years ago was worth a bit over$40,000 but my $215 Farmall gets washed more frequently.
