Glad your folks did good on their sale. I would expect that would be a tough day emotionally, seeing your equipment and cows sold. There have been many herds selling out here too , just as rrlund has said. one of my friends has called it a day for milking cows. He had a mixed herd Holstein and Jersey. I bought 15 Jersey cows , all in milk from him. This will push me up to 80 or so cows now. Funny part about the dairy business is , even though one man has had enough and gets out, the demand and price for good milking cows never seems to falter. Guess there is always another fool like me just around the corner looking to milk a few more,or go bust trying.
