It's entirely sad that many people today, adults and kids alike can be so rotten to each other, without any consideration of what they are doing and the consequences of same.
No matter the situation, people need to realize that all the shunning, taunting, bullying and any inconsiderate kind of behavior is worth less than a warm bucket of spit.
They need to ask themselves if that is the best they can do in life, tormenting others about shortcomings or whatever it may be. Its not their best, but its much easier to be rotten than to show some respect no matter what the situation is.
Competition and participating in team or individual sports is not about who can best who. The real value of it lies within no matter the outcome. Yes its nice to win, but the nature of these kinds of things is that someone has to win and someone has to lose, accept that and focus on the life building aspects of team or other kinds of competition. Coaches used to educate adolescents in areas that serve a purpose later in life, now its all about the glory of winning. They're wrong and foolish, and they don't even know it.
Its about hard work, comradery, responsibility, learning and practicing, making a team effort, or an individual effort based on your best try or performance. Something goes wrong, you make a mistake, or you just put in 110% and it did not go your way- you did your best, pick yourself up and move on, persistence is what pays off, giving up is easy, work is hard and anything worth doing is going to be hard work for the most part, not always but you have to try.
Trashing others after a loss, a mishap or mistake - no good, be a sportsman and honor what it means in victory or defeat, if you can't do that then you're not trying hard enough, as all the other paths are easy in comparison.
