I understand that the local hay market has taken off,so having some extra hay on hand , Thought I might toss a ad on the local internet market ,Kijiji. 4x4 silage bales , of second cut milk cow hay, at $100.00 each. Don't really care if I sell any or not, just a bit of a fishing trip to test the market. I would hate like the devil to pay that kind of doe for hay myself, but I don't grow a whole lot of soy , wheat , and corn like some dairy farmers do. I just try to grow good forage, and aim to always have extra. I think that good hay , or even poor hay will return more dollars per acre this year than most other traditional row crops.
