Against my better judgement I got another dog yesterday. I think she's predominantly red heeler.
I've never had luck with those "I know someone who has a friend that has a dog that needs a farm to run" kind of things. Without growing up around machinery and respecting it the worst always happens.
This one came from an old aquaimtance and is very well trained. She's got good respect for the equipment so far and is fairly well glued to my hip. It's been a long time since I put down my last dog I felt was my right arm and she's kind of already taking that spot. The other dogs now go everywhere but aren't really there for me first. She's got lots to learn but I think she'll be OK - as soon as she realizes the tractors aren't trying to eat me and doesn't need to come unscrewed every time I start one. She's small enough to ride in the cab when I get the manure spreader stuck (for you old timers)
