my dad had one just like that!!,,in the 60s here in nj,,he did many,,many lawns with a tractor and york rake,my brother and I would hand rake,as he pulled the debris, rocks, roots etc towards the edge. Then he would seed it with that seeder. We would the shake mulch hay by hand over the lawn.Developments were going up like crazy all around our little farm in nj.Not big houses like now,,but regular modest houses. We did many,,many lawns.Heres a good story,,,the development right next to our farm was going up.My dad got the job to do all the lawns. They wanted a laod or two of topsoil for the model home.My dad loaded some in his 1954 Ford F600 dump truck.I was about 11 years old and very short. He said ,,drive the truck to the end of our driveway, stop,.turn it off .I did that,it all went well no problem,,my dad followed behind with the tractor. Little did we know the black fellow who worked for the builder in the develpoment,,saw the truck coming at him by itself,,he couldnt see me drivng ,I was so short, that he thought it was a ghost driver. He actually ran away, till he saw me climb out of the truck!
