MF 35 s/n

I recently purchased my first tractor; it's a MF 35 with the 3-cylinder Perkins diesel engine. The s/n plate is missing and I would like to know how to find out the s/n and date of manufacture. The tractor is in good working order but leaks a little fuel. I paid $3400 for the tractor, bush hog, box blade, 8-disc harrow, pole boom, and a 16 ft. trailer. Was this a good deal? Is this a good tractor? I am beginning to get very interested in tractors and would appreciate any replies. Thanks.
