I hired a great guy the other day, talked with him for a half hour. He said I'll always be early (was early to interview), work hard, etc. He was supposed to start Monday, never saw him, never got a call. Hired another guy Friday. Seemed good, he worked Monday. Called at 10am on Tuesday, 2 hours after work started. Said he decided to work nights at a factory. Ok, 0 for 2 this week. Hope some of my guys aren't sent back to their home country, I'd have to close up! I find the guys that I hire have received less and less real life work and experience from their parent(s) through the last 20 years. Still good ones out there, just seems harder to find them! Many come to me at 19 and it's the first job they have ever had to do. I mean anything. Never had to rake leaves, push a broom at home, wash a car, nothing.
