: : I went to a auction the other day & saw a Ford 8n with 1100 hrs. : : it sold for $4,200 is that a good price ? : Tractor prices are a function of supply and demand, largely affected by where you're buying at. But, $4200 is a bit much for an 8N unless its very special or something comes with it. The N series in general is a reasonable utility tractor for puttering around a few acres. The prices you see anymore are more a reflection of the folks buying them these days; in this area (Northern Ohio) its the yuppies and city folks moving to a few acres. They love the size, the wide front, and gotta have that three point. Plus, as long as you don't do something really dumb to them, its hard to screw one up. Perfect for yuppies and city folks. Around here prices are: Rough ... $2500. Clean ... $3000 Painted ... $3500. Nice ... $4000 and up. Of course you can get an 80 HP unit 15-20 years newer for less!!!
