Potential purchase for an as-is J. D. 4440 with transmission issues. Owner says that the low and reverse gears are difficult to access and problem is getting worse. Dealer says repair is in the top shaft region and could cost upwards of CA $12,000 to fix. Anyone out there had the same problem with this series and what was your repair experience? Thanks in advance for your reply.
