AFIK,IH never made a 'factory' propane M. ths first 'factory' propane was super M.The Sn (I think) is a Louisville tractor/Sn.The disk brakes were Sm. M had band brakes from factory. However some Ms were fitted with aftermarket 'Lambert'disk brakes. Is the tank mounted lengthwise,or crosswise?Pretty sure a 'factory' SM had the tanl mounted crosswiseYou could have an M/SM that was converted from gas to propanr at some time..Sounds like a SM to me.The belt pulley thing is of no issue. That was an option that not all tractors had. The lever on the left side is an M/W live pto hand clutch.Pull back on it,the foreward motion will stop, pto will continue to run. snap it foreward and resume foreward motion. We need some picks to help you better.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
