I had never thought about the newer efi motorcycles having the pump in the fuel. Interesting. I changed my '66 mustang over to efi a couple of years ago and found out quickly that a frame mounted efi pump would not last very long because of the heat. I bit the bullet and purchased an efi tank with the pump inside the tank. No more problems. I guess the pump really needs the cooling property of being in the fuel.
