: Was reading the posting down below a bit and was wondering what a dirt pan is? Is it a box scraper? Not quite. It's a scoop that attaches to a three-point hitch. It's in the form of a three sided box, open to the rear. You back up with the scoop lowered, lip slightly lower than horizontal so it'll cut, and when the scoop is full, pick it up and go and dump it somewhere. Similar to a front end loader, but cheaper, easier on the tractor (especially those with somewhat delicate front ends, like little Farmalls and N seriers Fords) and LOTS cheaper.
