Laws must be very different in my part of the World.One of the owners of the farm next to mine is a retired cop,he asked a game warden friend of his what we should about illegal deer stands on both our farms.The game warden said to take it down,secure it and if anyone comes looking for it to show them the deer stand with a witness and if the owner of the stand says it is their stand to call him,the game warden, and he'd come and write the owner a couple different tickets and take the stand for evidence.So far no one has ever come to claim a stand.
