Thanks Andy, Found 1 X 14 tap and die, Saved the retaining nut. Cleaned up the threads on the upper pivot shaft. All tightened down as it should. Looks like the only leak is caused by the worm gear seal. Stiff bearing is being replaced as well as worm gear seal. Looks like the loose steering has been resolved by rotating the 360 deg. steering sector gear. If 50 year old childhood memories serves me correctly, it feels as our Super H did when it was only 10 years old. Now feels safe to open it up in road gear. Wife clocked me at 20 mph. Before, anything over fast idle in 5th felt like a death wish. Also found someone used a small bent nail instead of the correct sized cotter pin in the worm gear retaining nut . Worm gear retaining nut was loose. Turning left unscrewed the nut till it hit the bent nail, then wheels would catch, then turn. Turning right, shaft would turn till threads would tighten up into the retaining nut, then wheels would turn. Would you happen to know the correct level of gear lube for the gear box? May have over filled it. In upstate South Carolina, not many tractor salvage yards around here. Found it strange you can buy almost everything for this H except this one retaining nut. Thanks Andy, Tim
