I found a car I liked on CL one time but was not really in the market to buy so I sent it to myself as an email. About 2 years later I was cleaning out some older emails and ran across it so I called out of curiosity and he still had it. This time he was going thru a divorce so the price came way down. I cleared it with his lawyer and hers before I finished the deal. Enjoyed the car for 5 years before selling and more than doubled my money. And I still had the enclosed trailer and a lot of parts that came with it.
Lately I have been looking for a vehicle for a friend. I keep seeing ads with an "email address" written across the picture and a real low price, like $1051 for a 2009 Mercedes. As I am retired I spend cold days looking for this type ads and flagging all I find. Obvious scammers.

In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
