I'm trying to figure out the thinking of some sellers. Example 1; There is a Ford 8N a guy wants $3400 for. Not 'restored, just a run of the mill old tractor - old paint, maybe 60% rubber. Comes with a cheap back blade. There is no way it's worth that but he keeps trying. It's been listed pretty much constantly for two years. Example 2; A 1020 John Deere. Looks like a decent tractor. Has a good loader. I don't know JD prices but assume it's too high or there's something wrong with it. That's been on Minneapolis CL for about 3 years now. One more; A flywheel from a Ford industrial out of a Bobcat. $100 Same ad and price for Over 3 years now. Are these sellers just patient, or stubborn or hopeful that that one guy will come along? I've sold a lot of stuff on CL. Run the ad a couple/few times and if no action put OBO or drop the price. Or let it expire and try again in spring or fall or a year from now. Don't get me wrong here It's not my business what others do and I'm not griping about them. Maybe they have more than that in it or it's a "See honey. I'm trying but no takers." I'm just trying to understand their thinking to run an ad constantly for 3 years - same price, same pictures. What do you folks think?

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
