While the replacement cost would be high, that seems like
a fair amount of money for a beat up 20-year-old
setup. There are *lots* of lawn tractors and
accessories for sale by people who are moving, and
I've seen such setups sell for $1000, and they were
1995 Murrey (or some non-name brand). Anyway, for that kind of money, I'd think you could
get a newer setup. I don't know about parts/support -
call a local small engine shop and see if parts are
available. Big stuff like transmissions are so expensive
they are rarely worth fixing. I'd hate to see you
stuck with an orphan....
