My main issue right now is that it is stuck in first gear. I removed the gear box cover and the selectors were perfectly aligned. I can move each selector by hand except the reverse one. I've been told maybe try to spray cleaner and lubes all over everything and maybe that selector is just stuck??? I don't know. Doesn't matter what gear the stick is in, the tyranny is always in first. I drove it about a mile like this.
Good day:
Any history of previous owners performing any repairs / work in Transmission?
I know FIRST and SECOND SHIFTER FORK, can pose a problem in the Ferguson Transmission. (I own a TEA-20 that had a bent FIRST and SECOND SHIFTER FORK). Take a look at the pictures and verify there are NO bent or cracked Shifter Forks, forks are in the proper location on the sliding coupling.
If all looks proper, I would drain the oil from the Transmission/Hydraulic/Differential sections and spray penetrating oil on everything in the transmission. I would remove the SPRINGS and DETENTS from the top of the Transmission case and fill bores with penetrating fluid.
With a pry bar start moving the gears / shafts and verify are the GEARS seized on the shafts? are the shifting rails seized in the bore of the transmission case? has someone assembled the Transmission incorrectly?
