I buy Kwik-Trip 91 octane recreational gasoline, no ethanol, keeps longer by far than E-10 or E-15, like 9 to 12 months with no problem. Kwik-Trip has 100+ stations mostly in Wisconsin, but a few in Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota. They have one of the strongest detetgent packages available in pump gas today. Zeto gas problems since I started using their gas 12-14 years ago.
I rebuilt a Cub Cadet 5 years ago, engine, carb, everything, ran like brand new. Loaned it to SON to mow his small yard on his rented house. He bought gas at the local gas station, since he's in Iowa, every place sells E-10 and E-85. After about two months it wouldn't run. I buy a carb kit and go down one day, pull the carb and it's full sand, or grit, some sort of byproduct of the moisture the ethanol in their gas attracts or creates. He switched stations and hasn't had a problem since. Only takes one bad tank of gas to get problems.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
