Dean...great subject. Just call Barnie Fife down at local sheriffs office and he will rush right over, siren blasting to stop this annoyance ASAP. My point is that this is just another example of the kinds of problems we face that can not be addressed at the local level. Our world has changed, but so many people think of the world of business and commerce as 1960......it is not. Almost everything we do is across state lines The local authoritys have no expertise., no budget and no authority. So who you going to count on to fix the problem?
If someone beats on your front door 7 times a day after being told to stop harassing you, there are local laws and consequences. But if someone makes 7 unwanted calls to you at all hours, destroying your sleep...don't call the local authorities. Only the feds can fix it. We have all lived with Mail fraud laws all our lives and thought it was a good thing. So do you want to continue getting the phone calls?
