: cylinder #1 and not the compression stroke. Thanks. Fortunately, I did not "correct the rotor 180 deg., since I couldn't recall any seriously unusual gyrations inside the engine since it last ran. You are undoubtedly right, I set the timing mark on the exhaust stroke. A little learning is a dangerous thing.
