I was thinking about this today...…. If the Canadian government removed all supply control management and opened the country to milk imports without tariffs and also allowed any size mega-dairy farm to operate in Canada couldn't Canada become a player in the milk export business possibly lowering the farmgate price of milk further then what it would be otherwise for American farmers and farmers world wide, much like what happened when the European union removed their quota system? My thought is its better for American farmers to not be able to export milk to a relatively small country of 30 million? then to have Canadian farmers produce milk unrestricted for export to the u.s or elsewhere who could now produce milk at will and likely produce it at a competitive or cheaper price then American farmers?
Just a thought I had, I could be missing something or I might not be fully informed?
