Up here in Canada we are taxed on most everything. Here in Ontario we pay 8% sales tax along with the good old GST ( Goods and Services Tax) This was suppose to be a fairer tax as there were hidden taxes ( duties) paid on items brought into Canada for resale. So to after my 35% income tax and 8% PST (Provicial sales Tax) and 7% GST my dollar does not go far.Oh yeah $1.52 Can is about $1.00 US. You must sign a bill stating the item is for farm use only to get an item PST exempt, the GST is still paid at this time. This (The GST) however you can apply to the Government and reclaim every 4 months or once per year which ever you prefer. Go over the books fill out some forms. Its a bloody pain in th keester. As some one stated in an earlier post some stores will allow almost anything for farm use while others will not allow any sale as farm use. If you are confused about this you sure do not want to hear how they handle property taxes here..
