massey harris 101 super lever

I have a 1940 Massey Harris 101 Super and there is a lever that is located in front of the transmission housing. It is located on the right side if viewed setting in the seat. The lever is on the housing that sits directly in front of the shifter rails. My question is what was this lever used for ( or what was its purpose on this tractor)? Curious minds would like to know. Thanks for any information.
