I took an H farmall magneto apart and had to consult a retired farmall mechanic as to how to get gears inside the magneto in tme. One gear has an " R " on it and the other a small dot, align these together, then to time magneto to the engine remove #1 sparkplug and hold thumb over plug hole until you feel compression ,then look at pointer above front pulley and align it with notch on the pulley, align rotor to where it will be on the # 1 spark wire ,let magneto be retarded as far back with the coil toward the engine as you can get it , then before you get it tightened pull outwarrd on the coil until you hear the impulses click. that will get the job done.( all these different size farmalls of this series have the same magnetos)also to becareful and get magneto on right as it will mount and can be set to fire on #4 cylinder instead of #1 ,that is why I gave the explicit procedure to time magneto.
