Good story Dean, those were the days when kids were always tinkering with their rides (like splitting an exhaust manifold on a 6 cylinder Chevy .... ha). No longer, the parking lot student cars at the local high school would put my '02 Caravan and '08 Civic to shame. A buddy of mine had a wild 350 Bridgestone ..... remember those, they were a 2-stroke too I think, oil injection maybe and early 70's? I've had a few bikes, sold the last one 5 years ago ('79 Wing plain Jane vanilla .... basic factory model, no extras), I just wasn't putting any miles on it. I had a little 1976 400F Honda Super Sport that was a low mileage bike and I sold it to a pilot from Van Nuys, California in 2001. He said he waited all his life for a low mileage 400F, mine had only 8000 miles on it which he said in California was unheard of. He flew up here (regular scheduled flight) to central Alberta with his girlfriend, stayed in a nearby hotel overnight and the next day I picked him up and after an hour or so of going through things, him and his girlfriend rode all the way to Seattle in two days. I rode with them to the western outskirts of town and got them headed in the right direction. As they drove off I thought to myself .... there's a cray bugger if I ever saw one. They were both small sized but still, that's a big load on a small bike. He left the bike there for the winter in Seattle at his friend's place and the next spring picked it up in Seattle and drove it back to LA. His a$$ must have been sore when they arrived in Seattle, that wasn't a highway cruiser. We corresponded for a few years and then that fell off a bit. I wonder if he still has it.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
