RGrant, As I mentioned in other posts, I'm a satisfied Duramax owner. I've enjoyed reading the views of those who drive and are advocates for their diesel powered trucks and respect their opinions. Especially yours-obviously, your views about Cummins are well-grounded in your driving and towing needs. What do you recommend to a potential buyer who: 1) does venture into the urban environment and goes to the store, 2) may possibly trade or sell the truck in 4-6 years for another, 3) cares about noise and comfort levels and residual values, 4)wants towing power and torque for occasional towing, with reasonable fuel economy and 5)wants good looks and a modicum of comfort and 6) needs warranty protection? Obviously, manufacturers design trucks for a projected market and attempt to maximize profits through maximum sales to that market. Where do you think Dodge/Cummins fits into the market? Maybe that info will help the man who initiated this discussion. Also, I know jet engines, since that's what I've operated all my life, but I don't know big trucks. My little brother does, though, and he'll take a CAT over a Cummins anytime, especially after having owned one. Thanks.
