You've never seen the insides of the PSD have You? The oil pump is a gerotor design that runs right on the front end of the crankshaft, the camshaft is gear driven, the cam followers are roller equiped, And I've heard enough about the big connecting rods in the "Little Cum-a-part" to last a life time. The Cummins is a good motor, but there's NOTHING wrong with the Powerstroke. This man asked for the straight Scoop. Don't tell Him incorrect info. Also, there's about 4 times as many PSD-equiped Ford pickup as there are CTD Dodges. And I see lots of Navistar striaghtrucks & busses with the T444-E emblem on the side of the hood. I used to drive over-the-road, and I've spent a LOT of nights running trucks with V-8 Cummin's engines, 555 & 903's. CAT makes a LOT of V-8's, 12's & 16's down in Lafayette, IN. Guess a V-8 can't be too bad of a motor can it!
