Back when we were dating, my (now) wife's car spit out an outer front wheel bearing, it was SuperBowl Sunday so no tow truck willing to come help till after the game. I rooted around and found an old worn bearing from who knows what in the crack between the inner and outer sheetmetal in the trunk, must have been there when she bought the car. It wasn't the right one for the car, but it was about the same size, Hallelujah! We might just get home by dark! BUT what's this? Like a typical city girl, she has no tools ,and no grease either. We're 40 miles from home, and it's starting to snow. So I changed it out anyway, using a rock, a pair of knuckle buster gas line pliers (they were down in the crack with the bearing, someone was looking out for me that day), and butter for grease...We got home,Of course I had to buy her an new/used rotor, and fresh bearings the next day, and I also brought a chest of tools over for her to haul around in her trunk.....unfortunately 10 years later the darn female STILL expects me to magically fix stuff with nothing.
