On the subject of Poland-sortof I had a Lada in 89 it was an 82 model I think this was a Fiat 124 built in the Ukraine under licence- not as bad as it sounds. One day while abusing it to near death the right front suspension stuck in the wheel full down position- I had recently rebuilt the front end with factory parts including bushings about 45$can the problem was the shock absorber had seized so I removed it and drove for a while. I carved a chunk of wood and stuck it in but it still leaked. I then broke a chunk of plastic trim off from under the hood heated it with a lighter-far away from the car wrapped it around the stick and placed it in the hole stayed till the car died of terminal everything
